Eddie Harrell, Jr., is Co-President of Urban One’s Audio Division. UrbanOne is a multimedia company with a portfolio of radio, television, and digital assets. Mr. Harrell previously served as Regional Vice President and General Manager of the company’s radio markets in Ohio, inclusive of Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus from 2016 to 2024. Before becoming Regional Vice President, Mr. Harrell served as Vice President and General Manager of the Cleveland market from 2014 to 2015 after leading The Columbus market from 2011 to 2013. Mr. Harrell also served as a Commissioner of the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, through a gubernatorial appointment, from 2008-2012. He served as Chairman of the Commission from 2009-2011. Before joining Radio One, Mr. Harrell served as the President and CEO of the Columbus Urban League from 2006 to 2011. Before his tenure at the Columbus Urban League, Mr. Harrell served as the Executive Director of I KNOW I CAN (college access program). Mr. Harrell also held various management positions with The Kroger Company before taking over the helm at I KNOW I CAN. He now serves as Chair of the Otterbein University Board of Trustees and also serves on the National Association of Broadcasters Board of Directors. Mr. Harrell has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Association of Broadcasters, Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, Ohio Debate Commission, COSI, OSU Harding Hospital, I KNOW I CAN, and KIPP Columbus. Mr. Harrell received a B.A. in Business Administration from Otterbein College (now Otterbein University) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Ashland University.
